It’s such a RUSH to go after what you really want in life.

Have you ever felt the thrill of saying “Let’s do this!” to such a degree that you literally feel your body fill with excitement and nerves?

Fear and excitement are two sides of the same coin. They’re both exhilarating, as if liquid intensity is rushing through your veins.

So how do you know if it’s fear or excitement? It just depends on how you label it.

Welcome to The Rush Issue of The Edit. It’s for my ladies who want to play big.

Let’s go.

With Practice, Fear Can Become Pleasurable

As for me, I struggle between two types of fear.

The fear of going after something and failing miserably … in public … for all to see…

And the fear of never going after what I deeply desire and failing miserably… in private … for me and my closest loved ones to see.

I get to decide which flavor I’m willing to feel.

Would I rather protect my reputation from strangers who, at the end of the day, don’t really care about me?

Or would I rather live my boldest, most audacious life and show my family, especially my daughter, that I’m willing to play full out, even if sometimes, I fail?

I know which one I’m choosing - but that doesn’t always make it easy. The thing to know is that, with practice, fear can actually become pleasurable.

How? By changing your self-image to a person who enjoys the RUSH of:

  • Putting yourself out there
    Surprising yourself
  • Making yourself proud
  • Loving yourself through road bumps
  • Winning big
  • Expressing yourself fully

And then, like a little kid when they’re learning to snow ski and they wipe out big time, you just brush yourself off and say, “Now THAT was fun. Let’s go for it again!”

Discovering the Magic with Juliet Pang

“Since discovering my Extraordinary Goal, I feel free and encouraged to do the things that were on my heart for the longest time.

I never had the courage to perform solo as a singer-pianist, having hidden behind my husband, an amazing musician, since we met in a jazz bar 13 years ago.

In the short span of under 3 months since joining SOSI, I’ve been blessed with a solo public performance opportunity, and in the last 2 weeks, a regular gig at a restaurant with an amazing boss and great food!

I turned 45 in May, and I just completed two professional video shoots for my new website as a solo jazz singer-pianist. I took up the courage to plan, research, pray, gather, and finally just this past Sunday, the videos and the pictures were taken.

Those thoughts like “Who do you think you are?” that Tonya shared happened to me as well. It was “safer” to hide behind others and let them shine. Now I look back on all the days I went to cafés to write my thoughts down, and I get teary thinking about that girl who didn't know her possibilities yet but fiercely chose to believe in them. She just kept showing up.

Three years ago, I was depressed. I struggled with low self-esteem and didn’t even dare to get out of the house much. With Tonya’s Daily 3, I have unearthed thoughts that were tanking my self-image - thoughts that I didn’t even know I had!

I am embracing new thoughts and embodying my future self with renewed love. I now know it's safe to be seen, and it's the only way I can embrace and embody who I'm called to be in all its fullness. I just wanted to share this with all of you SOSI ladies.

Thank you, Tonya, I'm so grateful for SOSI and yourself. Love you from Perth, Australia.”

How to Do Fear in Style

I want to live a life of joie de vivre (joy of living) and it turns out that to live with joy requires that you’re willing

to feel the fear of living fully. The only other option is to hide, and hiding is not living my friend!

In this week’s episode, I want to share with you how I use one of my biggest fears in life to drive me, motivate me, and inspire me. I hope it helps you too because this is one of the secrets of living a life that you absolutely love - and doing it in style.
