You know how the world seems to be on a roller coaster lately?

It’s got me thinking about something big – this idea that we get to choose who we are in every single moment.

Here’s the deal: I’ve noticed how easy it is to get sucked into the vortex of collective freakout.

It’s like this invisible force that sneaks up on you. One minute, you’re fine; the next, you’re doom-scrolling and feeling your stomach do somersaults.

That’s when I hit the pause button and ask myself: “Tonya, who do you want to be right now?”

Sounds simple, right? But this little question packs a punch. It snaps me out of whatever funk I’m in and reminds me I’ve got options.

Do I want to be the calm in the storm?

The one cracking jokes when things get heavy?

The one who remains optimistic with pessimism is the flavor of the day?

This isn’t about ignoring what’s going on. It’s about choosing how I show up in the middle of it all.

Is it always easy? No. There are days when the anxiety feels like it’s got me in a headlock. But that’s when I find it most crucial to keep asking myself that question.

So, here’s my challenge: Next time life throws you a curveball (or, you know, the world seems to be going wild), take a second and ask yourself:

“Who do I want to be right now?”

Trust me, it’s pretty powerful stuff.

Remember, you’re in the driver’s seat of your own being. It might seem small, but the ripple effects can be huge – for you and everyone around you.

Until next time, keep choosing your flavor of awesome,

Defining Decisions

It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.

~ Tony Robbins

While big decisions matter, it’s our small, daily choices that truly define us. These micro-decisions shape our habits, relationships, and character.

This week, notice the decisions you make automatically. What you eat, how you respond to messages, when you take breaks - each is an opportunity to align with your values.

Try this: For one day, make your usual automatic decisions consciously. Notice how this awareness affects your mood, productivity, and interactions.

Remember that it’s not occasional grand gestures but the sum of our daily choices that define us. By bringing mindfulness to these small decisions, we lay the foundation for meaningful change.
